THE BEER JESUS FROM AMERICA IS THE TRUE STORY OF ONE CRAFT BREWER FOLLOWING HIS DREAM...

Willing to risk millions on a vision to bring his beer to Europe, Greg Koch (Stone Brewing) may be making the biggest mistake of his life. As one of the most successful independent craft brewers in the US, he has spent years working on an ambitious project to be the first American craft-brewery to build, own, and operate a craft brewery in Europe. Yet can he make it happen in a sleepy corner of Berlin, Germany, in a country infamous for its traditional beer culture, amid drinkers used to Octoberfests and cheap supermarket Pilsners?

The Beer Jesus from America (documentary, 97 min) tells a story of culture clashes, broken promises and a bottomless keg of unexpected challenges, all captured over three years by a local beer-loving filmmaker Matt Sweetwood (Beerland, Forgetting Dad) who wonders how the Beer Jesus is going to pull it all off…

This film is eye-opening, stress-inducing, inspiring, and ultimately quite moving. Not bad for a documentary about putting some metal tanks into a building.
